As this was my last speech, I think I did okay! I had some technical difficulties with my webcam so I had to record it using my camera which was much more difficult. I did my best to push past that however! In terms of the speech itself, I had a strong personal opinion about it and I felt comfortable speaking. For dress, I went with a bit more casual yet still nice looking attire. My outline helped a lot, and its definitely my favorite way to write a speech.

    1. Great Job. This speech was good. It had a bit of white static noise in the background, that made it a little difficult to hear you, but overall you did well. The topic was great and i enjoyed the fact that you related it to you by using anecdotes.your conclusion was one of the best conclusions you have had.

  2. "it isnt my best speech. i had a difficult time determining a topic, but id say it turned out well enough. i was able to use sources, and provide a charge at the end for my conclusion. i had an introduction and solid information for the body of my speech. I hope that if anyone ever watches this, that they are inspired."

    2. I felt inspired watching this speech Andrew! Your message was clear and strong, if just a little short. Your eye contact was also very good, and the same goes for your tone throughout the speech. Overall this speech was pretty good. However, one thing I noticed was that the camera was a little bouncy, which was a little bit distracting. If you could figure out a way to rectify that this would be a stellar speech!

    3. Ethan, I think that this was your best speech. You were very smooth in the delivery, and it seemed intriguing to me. I had no idea that you participated in the event, and holy cows is that impressive. Your eye contact was pretty swell, along with a good tone. Your speech was one of the few where I actually felt inspired at the end. Like what you're doing, right idea.

Max, I really like the topic that you chose for this speech- self confidence. This is a probably a major topic that I too deal with in my life. As usual, your tone and volume were on point, but you might have been able tone down on the hand motions a little bit haha. Although a little short on time, I think you got your point across and really hit home with the majority of people. I just love my helping brah!!!!!!!

I like what you are doing right idea.

    6. Max I must say, your speech was just truly incredible. No but seriously it really was a good speech! You speak very naturally and it shows more and more with each speech you give. I personally related well to this topic and I think it could be used to inspire a lot of people! I feel like confidence is a often overlooked quality in a person, and you addressed this well. Overall, this was just another great speech from you Max.

    7. Ethan, your intro right away grabbed my attention! I really liked the personal story you gave. You spoke very smoothly and confidently and I felt inspired by what you had to say. Your eye contact could have been a little bit better, but you never stuttered and had almost no "ums" which is a bonus! Overall this was a good inspirational speech.

    8. Well, max, it really does seem that you have great confidence. and it shows in your speeches, especially this one. It was very easy to relate this speech, and I think you did a great job inspiring people. I liked the fact that you didnt stare directly down the middle of the classroom, to me, it looked like you tried to look at every single person in the room while you were speaking, and good job on that. Also, you looked good, and it was nice that yopu dressed up to give your speech.

    9. I certainly agree with others. I would say this was one of your best speeches. You had solid eye contact and you seemed to have a lot of confidence. Great job to end the year.

  5. Well, this was the grand finale for my presentations in speech class. I really enjoyed my topic of inspiration- comedy. I was a little nervous before the presentation, but I felt the most comfortable while delivering the speech. I think my powerpoint was able to help me get some points across (Max...ha), and add a humorous touch to it. For the first part of this speech I tried memorizing the stand up routine, and used a relaxed style manuscript for the rest. I think my volume and tone were ok with this speech, but I think that my eye contact could have been a little bit better. I'm glad that I could get a few chuckles, and I'm happy that this is the speech that I'm leaving on.

    3. Michael,
Your speech was truly humorous and I was very glad that I did not go right after you. Like usual you seemed very confident, and had a good pace. Your speech was also very smooth, and you did not seem to lack any more practice. One thing I think you should work on a bit is your eye contact, but other than that you had an awesome speech!

    4. Well, it seemed you decided to take a very odd, humorous take on the assignment. But, it worked. It was hard to understand where you were trying to take it from the beginning, but the extended introduction really did help bring your speech full circle. I also enjoyed the fact that you used a visual aid, a powerpoint. Just one comment; who was that person at the conclusion of your speech" i couldnt see due to the glare of the video.

    5. Michael, I am pretty sure I laughed in every single speech you made this year. They all have been great. This one here, was again, "truly incredible". You always go up there with confidence and humor. You always get the audience engaged and that is what makes you a great speaker. Nice job!

    8. Krupo not only was your speech inspirational but it was very entertaining and the fact that you called max a joke was probably one of the funniest things ever.

  6. This was my overall best speech of the year. This was probably the only speech I had a passion of doing. I wish I had made it longer though, but I felt I presented it really well. I think I was more confident in this speech than any other speech and I felt that I could do better with my eye contact, as I sometime found myself looking down at my paper finding my spot.

Michael: Your speech was done really well. I enjoyed the comedy bit in the beginning and the punch line was funny.

Ethan: Your speech was very inspirational. Your story was interesting and it drew me into your speech.

    1. Mo, I really thought that you did a good job with this speech. I felt it was very mature of you to comeback from that last speech and deliver a strong interesting speech for your last one of the year. Overall this year I felt you improved as a speaker. Good job mo.

    2. I do feel this was your best speech of the year. However, not to be mean, but others in the oast have not been great - like the last one. I still believe you go up there with a lot of poise. The thing standing in the way of you being an okay speaker and a great one is the fact of you caring. I know one day you will.

  8. I felt like I gave a strong speech for it being my last one of the year. I enjoyed my topic, and am confident in the speech I gave..haha catch that one? Overall as a class, yes I feel like I am a naturally gifted speaker, but there is a lot that I still have to work on to present and give speeches in front of and audience. I feel like by taking this class, I improved overall as a speaker. I still want to hear what you guys have to say about my speech!

I thought this speech really came from the heart. After choosing a topic that I liked I already knew what to say. Didn't think about it much just knew what I needed to say and said it. I looked into the camera as much as possible. I didn't have anything to look at so that should have helped. I hope this helped someone.

    1. I loved what you had to say Seth. I felt really attached to what you spoke about in your speech. You seemed to be confident in what you were saying and I applaud you for that with how nervous in can be for you. I have enjoyed a lot of your speeches through the year and they have gotten better and better. Hope you are feeling better! Get well soon!

  10. Out of all the speech we did for this class, this speech was by far my favorite. I was able to fully be confident and not be nervous when giving the speech. For this speech I actually used a manuscript, which usually I do not like to use. However, I think it worked out quite nicely and that I was still able to make eye contact and gestures. During my speech I noticed that my pace varied a lot at times it was quite fast, and other times very slow when I was emphasizing something. On the day on this speech I was not dressed nicely for this speech because I had the mindset that I have two tests today I will just dress comfortable. So, I forgot to dress nicely. Lastly, on my inspirational speech I was lacking facial expressions, which is one thing I forget to do when giving a speech. In the future, I will continue to work on my pace, and I also have to work on my facials.

  11. I really enjoyed this speech a lot. I have inspired and encouraged many of those around me at different parts of my life so it was really easy for me to come up with a topic for this speech. My eye contact could have been slightly better, but my volume and pace were solid enough. Being in theater through my entire high school career gives me an advantage over most others in the class. I adapted to public speaking with more confidence at a faster rate. Throughout this semester, I feel I have really delivered consistent solid speeches that many people have enjoyed. I am glad I took this class for many reasons that will help me down the road. The journey has been great!

Drew - I really loved your speech towards dealing with stress. It lowered some of it from the points you made. Throughout the year, you have consistently come up with some great topics. This speech was once of those and you did a great job inspiring me. Great job this semester!

Stephen - I could not agree more with your speech and topic. Constantly at the cinema, I get grumpy customers that seem to complain about almost everything. It gets frustrating, but as you did, I handle it the same way - with a calm attitude and smile. Your speeches always seem to incorporate a ton of detail and I applaud your confidence when you head up in front of everyone. Great job!

    1. Zach,
Great job on this speech! You had good volume and a good pace throughout the entire speech. I also liked how you got everyone's attention, by telling a story about yourself. Something I think you should work on for the future are facials, gestures, and maybe a bit more eye contact. In total, your speech was still very good and I liked the topic.

    2. Pfaff, I really liked your speech. You are a very good speaker and a great actor. I appreciated your personal experiences and the topic as a whole. I thought you did a great job with eye contact, gestures, and confidence. Your speech really was inspiring and you did a great job!

    1. Nick, you just keep getting better and better. I thought this speech was hilarious and I am sure the rest of the class would agree. It was a little unorganized but it was very memorable. Over-all I think it was a pretty good way to end the class. You really went out with a bang.

  13. Let's just say; I wasn't inspired when planning this speech. I was stuck on one topic and three anecdotes and couldn't fill in the rest. I hate manuscripts but really should've used that. My words didn't come to me, I couldn't keep eye contact and I was extremely uncomfortable. I am disappointed that I didn't do better for our last speech.

    1. I really enjoyed your topic and found your speech very interesting, I felt as though you knew what you were talking about, just hadn't practiced it that much. I thought you had great posture, eye contact and volume. Although, you may have felt uncomfortable, I thought you did a very good job of hiding that.

  14. I kind of freaked out when Ethan told me he didn't know who Samwise Gamgee was and I had to add a last minute summary of Lord of the Rings so the intro got kind of messed up. I didn't know how to really make my speech inspiring. For me, being optimistic is easy but it really depends on the person. My eye contact was lacking a little bit because I decided to use a manuscript. Manuscript is not my favorite approach but I wanted to make sure I made the time limit and didn't leave anything out. I think I could've done a better job with this speech if it was over video like the persuasive speech.

    1. Alyssa, I think you did a great job on your speech. While your eye contact was a bit lacking, you definitely got your point across. I think that your speech helped the whole class realize that thinkin positive should be part of their every day lives. Your intro was a bit shaky but overall you delivered a great speech.

    2. I really liked your speech, especially your inclusion of the Lord of the RIngs summary, I was not expecting that. Although you struggled with eye-contact, I thought you did a really nice job with volume and rate, in addition to that, your topic was overall really good.

  15. I had a ton of fun with this speech. I loved talking about my role models and hopefully inspired some people to work hard for what they want. I think I could've done better with my eye contact and vocal variations. I'd say this was my best speech and was a solid way to finish the year.

  16. worst speech ever. I prepared a lot before, first choosed a topic about phone issue, and days later I changed it to economy issue, but the day before speech, as I talk to the teacher, it is not really inspirational, so I change the topic to water saving. I did not speak fluent during the speech because I did not practice. And my speech is still more of a convincing speech.

  17. This time for my speech i felt ill prepared. It was a tough speech to come up for a topic for and the only thing that I could think about at that time was about generosity or something on the lines of that. While up there I struggled to get my thoughts in order, as well as struggling to remember what my outline was referring to since I wrote very little on my outline. However, I thought I had good eye contact and although I appeared a little "shaky", I felt a lot more confident about this speech then any of my others.
